Superbike World Championship 2006

DARK DOG Superbiker - Norick Abe

During the race season 2006 of the Superbike World Championship, DARK DOG started to sponsor the Japanese superstar Norick Abe. This famous rider entered the Grand Prix circuit in 1994, achieving his first podium position almost immediately.

Seen as one of the best riders in the Motorsport World and as a national hero in Japan, he won several Grand Prix prizes. In 2005 Abe moved to Superbike.

Unfortunately, the year 2007 was tragic for Abe’s family, friends and fans. The Japanese motorcycle racer lost his life in a traffic accident, while riding his motorbike in a freeway near his hometown of Kawasaki.

With 144 races, 17 podiums in king’s category and 3 GP titles, the DARK DOG team had not only lost a top motorbike rider, but also a personal friend!
