In 2010, DARK DOG was seen again on ice, sponsoring the Ice Speedway 2005 German Champion, Stefan Pletschacher.
Ice Speedway is a truly thrilling sport that offers fast paced action that can reach a top speed of up to 140 km/h. The specially built bikes with 3 cm long spikes in each tyre enable the bravest riders to lean up to an inclination of 70 degrees on the track. Around 15,000 spectators attend the exciting live events and get to know the unique atmosphere.
The DARK DOG rider Stefan was born in 1978. His Ice Speedway career followed some motocross activity in his early childhood. At 17 years old he took part in his first Ice Speedway competition - the German Championship, which he ended in the 6th position.
A challenging career endangered by injuries made Stefan the champion he is today with a mental strength to succeed along with physical determination. In 2004, Stefan was acknowledged as German Vice Master and, in 2005, he became 1st at the German Championship. Now, the DARK DOG rider Stefan is 100% back and has already taken the bronze medal at the German Championship and the Team World Championship, which took place at Inzell (Germany), in the end of January 2009.
In 2008, the ambitious rider recovered fully from his two heavy accidents and got back 100%. During the season 2009, Stefan was proud to gain the bronze medal at the German Championship and the Team World Championship in January and recorded five TOP 5 positions in total at the end of the season 2009.
DARK DOG continues its sponsorship with Stefan Pletschacher for the season 2011. The season started with some difficulties but Stefan and his team keep on fighting! DARK DOG wishes even MORE ENERGY for the season 2011!
